Larry is an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience and over 10 years of teacher training experience. That experience has been split between Japan and Malaysia. Larry has lived and worked in Japan for more than 15 years and counts being fluent in Japanese as one of his most rewarding accomplishments, as it has allowed him to meet people from all walks of life and to gain knowledge that even most Japanese people do not possess. As a teacher in Japan, Larry has taught students at the university, high school, junior high school and elementary levels. Also, he has worked with engineers and executives at numerous large companies to help them to take their careers to the next level. Larry is just as comfortable talking with engineers about advanced automobile braking systems and electric vehicle hardware as he is about discussing ancient Greek literature or recent developments in the field of epigenetics.
Besides teaching, Larry has worked in various business management settings in the United States, Japan and Malaysia. In fact, one of his most challenging and rewarding management experiences came from working in Malaysia for seven years. During that time, Larry facilitated more than 150 workshops and presentations on education and business topics in a handful of Asian countries. Some of the presentations were in front of international audiences, which included government officials and politicians.
Most people would be surprised to know that Larry is a world-class portrait painter, loves to play jazz music on the piano, and has studied martial arts for many years. When he is not writing books, he enjoys drinking good coffee with his wife, studying about investing and sustainability issues, and weightlifting. Larry currently lives in Aichi Prefecture of Japan, but is looking to move to the United States in the near future.
