Michael Daly

My background includes having trained to be a monk for 8 years here in Ireland, as well as being a writer, speaker and workshop leader for the last 20 plus years.

While being based in Ireland I am regularly invited to travel throughout Europe to give talks, make presentations and lead workshops on Personal Leadership and Goal Setting for True Success.

In 2015 I undertook what was to become a 'Madventure', driving overland from London to Sydney, which involved traveling through 23 countries and taking 6 months in total. This journey was to involve traveling through some of the world’s most inhospitable regions and difficult terrains: a daunting route to many places I had never heard of before. Camping would often be the only means of accommodation available in such desolate environments as the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border.

The aim in undertaking this journey was to write a book truly answering the question as to what is it to live a life of true success as a follow on to my first book The Six traits of Self-leadership. Somewhat unexpectedly, I received the answer to my question during several conversations I had in Singapore while staying there – where for the most part the book is based as these conversations are interwoven into an account of my journey on the Silk Road.

The book titled Conversations in Singapore will be launched in Dublin on the 14th of June by the Irish Ambassador to Singapore.

As well as being an author, speaker, and consultant I present the D15 Today Radio Show on Phoenix FM where I get to interview the people who are making our streets, communities, and countries better places to live, study and work in.

I hold qualifications in Social Care, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise, Public Administration and have an MA in Health Care Management.
