Adrian D. Powell

Adrian Powell has been involved in ministry since 1984, as a writer, pastor, church planter and advocate for the Church beginning in Central Ohio and expanding to the Midwest, both coasts, Canada and the Caribbean. He is Associate Editor for Church of God Ministries website, "https://www.jesusisthesubject.org" as well as having been published in the Columbus Dispatch, Columbus Call and Post, Columbus Post and Vital Christianity.

Starting as a light in a dark place, the writer has realized that it is only by the proclamation of Biblical Christianity can true change take place, in the areas of politics, relationships or life. This means putting aside pragmatic principles and theories of Church Growth which look to management theories and psychologically manipulative techniques, rather than adherence to the timeless principles of the Word of God.

But that truth is not often being proclaimed in Churches around the world, particularly in the United States in the 21st century. It is being usurped by those who are more interested in building kingdoms of their own makings and methods rather than the Kingdom of God. Often mega-churches have become cults of personality that put a particular individual at the forefront rather than placing the Triune God at the head of all that is done.

It is the purpose of this ministry to proclaim the Glory of God in Jesus Christ by bringing together, "...a great multitude that no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues" (Rev. 7:9b). It is not by our own ability that we can accomplish anything, but only by the power of God that anything can be done.

The author is Pastor of Faith Community Church of God in Grove City, Ohio and welcomes the opportunity to speak to schools, churches, civic organizations as well as local and state government officials and Public Safety units and groups on framing issues that usually are not effectively discussed in a public forum.

Failure to address seriously the shortcomings of the elites of both parties is how the church has been compromised in its mission and short-sighted in its execution. In trading faithfulness to the message for a seat at the table (of both the Democrat and Republican Parties) it has caused each side of the debate to compromise their Biblical principles in exchange for money, power, riches and fame.

All people need someone to have an experience in telling the truth in a multi-ethnic and racially diverse audience with the ability to bring the Gospel to life in a cross-cultural context. This allows for a presentation of "all things to all people that I might win some."
