Elizabeth Osta is the author of Jeremiah's Hunger, an Irish historical niovel that tells the tale of her great-grandfather in the height of An Gorta Mor, (The Great Hunger). She also is the author of Saving Faith, a memoir of her years as a Sister of St, Joseph where her convictions come in conflict with her lived experience. Humor and heartache are masterfully woven to make this a fascinating journey. She has edited Life shifts: Essays of Hope by cancer survivors that includes her own story. Her next historical novel, Maggie's Brood tells the tender tragedies and triumphs of a nineteent century Itrish immigrant, her grandmother, Maggie Buckley! Elizabeth lives on the Erie Canal in Fairport with her husband Dave VanArsdale and enjoys biking, kayaking and visits from their twin grandsons.
