Phyllis Nicholson Middleton

Phyllis Nicholson Middleton is the natural mother of three children and the spiritual mother of many, both inside and outside the church. She is a strong, quiet, and compassionate woman of God who is loved and admired by many. After retiring from AT&T in 1995, Mother Middleton worked as a Child/Parent Advocate at one of the lead Domestic Violence Agencies in South Jersey. While there she became a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor with the N.J. Coalition to End Domestic Violence. After retiring again in 2006 she founded EMPOWERING WOMEN 2 STAND (EW2S), with the purpose of giving encouragement, hope, understanding and assistance - spiritually, naturally and when possible financially - to women and children in crisis. Throughout the year, EW2S provides domestic violence counseling, spiritual counseling, homeless assistance, grocery donations, shelter donations, and back to school assistance. And each year in the month of March (Women’s History Month), EW2S hosts a Women’s Conference to empower women to value themselves, encourage women to believe in God, and to enrich the lives of women by helping them to find balance both spiritually and naturally. The vision of EW2S is that all women will learn to trust God to lead, guide and direct them, always believing that “With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
