Heidi Kennedy (1974) was born in San Bernardino California and lived and grew up in the Inland Empire region attending both Redlands High School as well as Upland High School.
She married her high school sweetheart Russell in 2007 and together they have 5 children, Marilyn, Joel, Parker, Liam and Carly as well as two grandsons Otis and Bonez.
After living in Southern California the family moved to Newport News Virginia where Russell was assigned to Fort Eustis while serving in the Army.
In 2003 the family moved to Gillette Wyoming to be closer to Russell's mother and step-father and they have lived there ever since.
From 2006 to 2016 Heidi built, owned and operated one of the largest couponing forums (HotCouponWorld.com) teaching over 350,000 members how to save money on their groceries and live a frugal life using coupons and other money saving techniques. During the 2008 US financial crisis many families were struggling to make ends meet and couponing became a popular trend. Heidi was featured in numerous articles in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Ladies Home Journal, Wired and Entrepreneur magazine. The term "Extreme Couponing" was coined in the article in the Wall Street Journal featuring Heidi and several other couponing and frugal people. This term became even more popular with the TLC television show of the same name.
In 2011 Heidi observed an interest in slow cooking that was gaining popularity and since she was already an avid slow cooker user she decided to start a blog dedicated to sharing easy, frugal and delicious slow cooker recipes with the world and thus, her blog CrockPotLadies.com was born!
Between 2011 and 2016 Heidi ran both CrockPotLadies.com and her couponing forum and blog at the same time but decided that after 10 years that it was time to move on and dedicate her time full time to CrockPotLadies.com. She sold her couponing forum and took all of her skills learned in website building, blogging, social media, and turned it into one of the most popular blogs dedicated to slow cooking on the internet.
CrockPotLadies.com is a fun and easy to read blog filled with over 1000 slow cooker recipes that are designed to be easy, delicious and family friendly using common ingredients found at just about any US grocery store.
