As a five year old I tagged along my father, a seasoned criminal litigator, to visit his clients. While he went to the defendants' booth to prepare depositions and so on, I was left at the care of the court secretary, whose idea of looking after a kid was handing over case files --surely something the judge would not have liked that much. At that young age I realized two things: First, that one day I would become a lawyer, and, second, that I wasn't going into criminal law. Luckily, company law and I fell in love by the time the law school entrance exams were about to start. Neither of us ever looked back.
