Rye has loved fantasy and science fiction for as long as he can remember. Whether through books, films, or video games, he’s always been drawn to new worlds and epic adventures. While other children heard nursery rhymes, Rye’s mother read him Tolkien, sparking a lifelong fascination with storytelling.

Before writing fiction full-time, Rye spent over a decade as a multi-award-winning journalist, covering everything from high-profile crimes to local politics. These experiences sharpened his ability to craft compelling narratives and deepened his understanding of the human experience—skills he now brings to his science fiction and fantasy novels.

Rye lives in Mississippi with his wife and their spirited dog. When not writing, he enjoys exploring the outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen, and indulging his love of geek culture.
