Corinne McCormack

Corinne McCormack was a business executive, wife and mother before she was an author. She was born in Long Branch N.J. and realized at a young age that she wanted her own business. Her career began with best in class companies including Macy's and Avon Products. In 1988, she became an executive with Trifari Jewelry; but 6 years later, the parent company filed for bankruptcy. Utilizing her severance, she launched a company out of her New York apartment. Initially she designed jewelry and created unique, designer eyeglass chains. With her clever packaging, she got recognition in an otherwise crowded marketplace. Five years later, she identified a niche in the eyewear industry and created the first collection of designer reading glasses. Her brand grew quickly and is sold in better stores nationwide. However, after 10 years in business, sales declined and she had to make a decision; either to turn her business around or close it.

McCormack shares her personal story with honesty and humor. Her purpose in writing this book is to illuminate for the reader what owning a business entails. For years, people have asked her to share her story, so she had written this so the reader can learn from her accomplishments as well as the difficult times.
