From the Author

After the sudden death of my youngest son, Todd, from an undetected rare heart condition, I needed to find some way to cope with the devastation and grief. I wanted somehow for his story to be told about how inspirational he was to me and those who knew him. He was one of those young men who touched everyone’s life who knew him. I immediately thought of my other son, Josh, and how I needed to stay for him- for what would it say to him if I couldn’t live without Todd. I also wanted to show that as a recovering self-described alcoholic, that it was with faith and strength of a twelve step programs that kept me sane when I wanted to die. A week after he died, I had heard about a young girl who was missing. My first thought was, maybe God needed Todd to escort this little girl into Heaven and he could show her his loving parents who would do anything to save his life. The idea of these two positions fascinated me and I fell in love with the idea that perhaps Todd could be helping others in Heaven. Thus, the foundation of “All the Little Children Need to Come Home” was formed. Writing this novel became very cathartic and began a bit of my healing. I have always believed in angels, but now I know angels exist. I know Todd is with me every single day and if I can give some hope and a new sense of purpose for those who have lost a child, then I have accomplished a lifelong dream. This was a story I needed to tell.
