April Winship

A native Californian, April Winship spent her childhood in New South Wales, Australia and has had the spirit for travel and adventure ever since.

She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from California State University, Dominguez Hills and worked in the field of Human Resources until staying home to raise a family.

Bruce Winship earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. After working on several aerospace projects including the Space Shuttle Launch Complex, he took a two year sabbatical and together with April signed on as sailboat crew hitchhiking across the South Pacific. It was there that they were both bit by the sailing bug and vowed to someday venture off on a boat of their own.

Ten years later they set sail with their two young daughters aboard their 33-foot catamaran Chewbacca. Their magical odyssey exploring seven countries and two oceans spanned ten years.

Now empty nesters, they live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
