Jyoti Gupta

Jyoti analyzes and makes media for social good, particularly on colorism. Her book, Different Differenter: An Activity Book about Skin Color has been cited as a specialized K-2, anti-racist resource on or in Drew Barrymore IGTV, McGraw-Hill's Wonders curriculum, and The New York Times Wirecutter. She is also the founder of The Colo(u)rism Project, and a former TEDxWomen and the Jaipur Literary Festival speaker.

Jyoti holds an MA in Media Studies from The New School University and an MA in Liberal Studies from the Graduate Center at the City University of New York, both in Manhattan, and a BFA in Visual Communication from the Delhi College of Art in India. She lives in Washington Heights, New York, with her 9-year-old son who most recent complaint is that she is "overdoing the discipline lessons."
