Dr. Gilbert married his bride, Kelly, in 2003. The Gilberts homeschool their three redheaded children and are involved in Classical Conversations, Boy Scouts, and American Heritage Girls. They love Oregon weather and family outdoor adventures.

Over 18 years of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral teaching have led to Dr. Gilbert’s position as a Full Professor of Counseling Psychology at Corban University in Salem teaching courses such as Human Sexuality, Trauma Therapy, Counseling Skills, Psychology of Addiction, Abnormal Psychology, etc.

His personal mission is to help churches, young adults, and parents build strong marriages and families and help them openly address difficult topics biblically. He believes parents must be intentional in addressing tough issues early with their children. Social media, pornography, dating, marriage, sex, family roles and values are critical topics that parents must not leave to others to teach their children.
