Robert Sharkey

Rob Sharkey is a retired Correctional Lieutenant who worked twenty-three years for the California Department of Corrections, where he spent almost his entire career serving in the department's SWAT program known as the Crisis Response Team. As a team commander and instructor for the program, as well being a supervisor during his regular duties at the prison, it became necessary to balance his job, his team, his family and his lifelong passion to play the guitar. The perplexity this created in his life, and the dilemma it often caused, are central themes to his writing style and is something many might relate to as they contemplate their own life and career decisions.

He is the father of four children, and after retiring from the department became a 7th/8th grade math teacher in Northern California.
