I’m a librarian by trade, a reader by nature, and a writer by effort. Writing is the dark side of reading, I tell you. It requires painstaking work–it reminds me of the seamy underbelly of a beautiful cross-stitch. (Not one of my passions, by the way.) The written word is the lovely patterned piece. Flip it over and you have the fits and starts, corrections and deletions, dead ends, and mistakes of the writing process that produced such a pleasant little thing. However, in that knotty, complicated flip side I found a passion. Specifically, a love for two female characters whose interaction embodies God’s love for us.

All I wanted was twenty readers for the first book, Look for It. That’s it. And twenty or more appeared, a gracious plenty. About five of you asked for a sequel, so I worked on one for a year, and now here it is: Find It. And the story of Nancy and Fairfax is not over yet, I have more to say about love and age and hope.
