Michel Cousin

Michel Cousin is a French writer, author of a dozen books of which Brief encounters is the only one translated to date. He became known in 2006 for the chronicle of a guest house run by a single man. That was the first book of an autobiographical series where he tells the miseries of his sentimental and professional life. The tone is bittersweet and sometimes fierce. He is progressively interested in other forms of expression, poetry, chronicles, aphorisms, pastiches and most recently imaginary biographies. If the central theme of his work remains love, the author leads a reflection on heritage and the trace that each of us leaves on this earth.
