In 2008 after a series of somewhat unfortunate professional events, I wrote a series of blog posts. I had 2 goals. The first was to figure out what this blogging stuff was about; the second to explore and articulate my point of view on how modern women represent feminism.
The next unfortunate event (the financial crisis of 2008) put me back into corporate America and my writing took a back seat.
This March, feeling inspired by a re-surge in the women's movement, I modernized, enriched and completed the work I started and published Stiletto Standards. This little book outlines a set of 10 skills, or standards, that can benefit any woman at any stage of her career. In it you'll find my personal stories and life lessons, tips and tricks to apply to your life, and some research to back it all up. While the read is enjoyable, the impact comes from doing the work at the end of each chapter to help you explore the concepts further to make the real for you.
I am a wife, entrepreneur and mother to 2 adult children and 2 bonus children. Stiletto Standards can absolutely be applied to the roles of super spouse and super mom.
I don't take myself too seriously, but I do take the quality of my life and relationships very seriously. I am happy to share a little bit of my experience to give every woman what she needs to know to live a life of her own design. If I can help just one girl negotiate a new salary, control her emotions when it counts, or confidently pursue her goals, I would be thrilled.
Please read and enjoy!
