GISEL A COSTA is the author of “The Eras” Series: The Eras The Baroque Story, The Eras The Classical Story, and The Eras The Romantic Story. She is the app developer for her iOS apps “The Baroque Story”, “The Classical Story”, and “The Romantic Story”. Her published works emphasize practice for young students. Her books and apps break down music, art, literature, history, and more during each time period. She also released a “Latin Instruments Coloring Book” that features beautiful latin instruments from the native lands and adopted from European and African music.

She has over a decade of experience of music instruction through her company Costa Staff Music. She has incorporated her books and apps in her lessons to bring a deeper understanding of practice. She helps students strengthen their technique and discipline. She also assembles annual group or solo recitals. She prepares students for their events, recitals, and auditions. She customizes students lessons to help them achieve their goals as well as different learning methods to what works best for each student.

She released her first piano single "Intertwining the Heart & the Mind" available on Spotify, itunes, and more music platforms. Her compositions and samples have been featured with Walter Reade Theater, Lincoln Center, Splice, Teflon Sega, Rare Percussion, and more. She performed in Maxwells, Arlene's Grocery, The Bitter End, National Underground, and other various venues throughout the tri-state area. She accompanied for Kearny High School. She joined the Oratorio Society of New York recently singing Soprano 2 where they performed 2 world premieres "We Are One" by Behzad Ranjbaran and "Sanctuary Road" collaboration between composer Paul Moravec and librettist Mark Campbell under conductor Kent Tritle in Carnegie Hall for their 145th season. This live recording in Carnegie Hall was released in January 2020, gaining a well-earned spot on Billboard’s Top Ten Classical chart for several weeks.

She wrote, illustrated, and created the app and book for the purpose to enhance students understanding of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic History during her lessons. She believed that it will help them understand who Bach, Mozart and many other artists were. The Baroque, Classical, and Romantic Periods are wonderful time periods for the arts. Children can also compare and contrast both books and time periods. ✨

The Eras Series are innovative and interactive books that empowers children with the understanding of practice. This is a children’s historical book that introduces music, art, and literature during the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic Period. Baroque history was a wonderful time for the arts. After Baroque Period, comes The Classical Period. After the Classical Period came the Romantic Period. Student Zoe and Isabella find the history book their teacher left behind. She then reads it to her siblings and friends. Children are introduced to three classical musical composers during those time periods. She reads that through their dedication, the composers wrote over hundreds of classical pieces that are still played today. This piece brings out artists and writers who also contributed so much of their works through practice. This manuscript may appeal to children who show an interest in the fine arts. There is also a coloring section to enhance learning. This is a great piece for children taking extracurricular activities such as music and art.
