James Hawk was born in Carter County, TN in 1941. He obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 1964. The last thirty years of his engineering practice was with Eastman Chemical Company, which was spun off from Eastman Kodak. James answered the Lord's calling to the Gospel ministry in 1977. Following his studies at Graham Bible College and Correspondence School studies at Moody Bible Institute, James served as pastor of six Baptist Churches over 35 years. He retired as pastor in 2015, but frequently speaks at local churches. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Darlene, of 55 years, and visiting his three sons and five grandchildren. He has authored two books: "They Came from Germany, Aboard the Thistle", and "Heavenly Morning glories".
