Mark Grice was born in Mississauga, Ontario in 1959. He grew up riding ponies, then horses and competing in a variety of equine competition from Pony Club to Rodeo. A full time Quarter Horse trainer at his own facility for 30 years, Grice competed successfully to the World Championship level in both English and Western events including Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Halter classes and Pleasure Driving.
Mr. Grice has judged horse shows in Ontario, Quebec and in the US and has received numerous honours and awards in the industry. Since 2009 he has shifted his career to a full time artist and part time actor. He operates a studio and gallery that is open to the public where he focuses on painting landscape, equine and wildlife images including commission orders. His acting roles include movies, television, commercials, music videos and corporate videos. He even has his own one hour cable television series called Mark Grice The Artist which has over 70 taped episodes airing.
The busy author is also hired to announce at large Quarter Horse shows and Hunter/Jumper shows and acts as an emcee for awards banquets, galas and music festivals. Mark Grice has also written numerous magazine articles for equine publications and enjoys writing and performing Cowboy Poetry.
Grice brings a relaxed, story telling style to his writing that is enjoyed by readers looking for an escape to the small town, country lifestyle.
