Austin Knapp

I was raised in a town with a dozen churches and only a single stoplight, in a time where being Queer was seen as one of the great dishonors you could cast upon your family. I write from that place. In my novels and in my music, I write knowing both where I've come from and who I was.

Through “Renaissance” I discuss ideals of discovery and adventure, inspirations of awe at the colorful world around us. Themes of temptation and truth become blurry lines that characters step between.

In “Forgive me, Father…” there comes the story of falling in love for the first time, and the story of becoming oneself despite one's environment. It's the story of the root creeping up between the pavement no matter how much pressure it uses.
