Hello. My name is David Orton Bragg. I first started writing books in 1986 (at the age of 22). I wrote my first book, 'Loren', a coming of age book, on a cheap manual typewriter. Back then (1986), if you made a mistake, you really did adopt the 'cut and paste' method, using a pair of scissors and sticky tape to fix the error! (I kid you not).
In 1993 I decided it was time to re-write 'Loren' using a computer (an Atari ST 520!), which I did, finishing it in 1996.
My next novel was a revenge story titled 'Vengeance is mine'. The story spans over three decades and chronicles a father's thirst for revenge after his wife and daughter are viciously murdered. I have received very good feedback for this book. How did I come up with the plot? I'll tell you after I retire from my current occupation.
My next novel was a boxing 'Rocky' style story. I think I got the idea because I was disappointed with Rocky V, and thought, NO! This is what it should have been like! Then I thought, hang on! I might just turn that into a novel. And I did.
My latest book is titled 'The Island'. I have received my best feedback in relation to this book, so I am going to take a break from writing while I work on promoting it. What is it about? A fight for survival against overwhelming odds on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I was originally inspired by the movie/book 'Deliverance'. I.E, how people cope under extreme pressure.
What will my next book be about? Can't tell you, but it will involve a hit-man. Stay tuned.
David Bragg
