Anne DeSimone

Anne DeSimone has always loved to read and write. Both served as a place where her imagination could run free. For the past twenty years Anne was an elementary school teacher, where she shared her love and enthusiasm for reading with hundreds of students. Anne recently retired, and returned to her passion for writing. It was her commitment to writing every day, that led to the spark that became her first book for children, The Lost Coin.

Over the years, as an educator, Anne helped many students navigate the transition to a new school. She experienced their anxiety, and understood how being alone in a new place was so difficult. She wrote, The Letter, to show children that we all make mistakes, especially when we try to solve problems in isolation. She wanted to share that communicating our worries, and working together to solve problems, is the way to help relieve anxiety.

Additionally, Anne has created a journal with instructions about how to write a mystery. The journal encourages daily writing, and includes simple to follow guidance about mystery stories.
