Candelora Versace

IPPY AWARD WINNER Candelora Versace has lived in Santa Fe since 1989. An award-winning freelance journalist for over two decades, she wrote extensively in local and regional publications about Santa Fe’s arts and culture.

As the founding editor of the highly regarded Southwest BookViews, a quarterly book review journal published 2001-2005, she brought needed attention to hundreds of authors, books, and publishers working regionally and often under the radar of national notice. In 2003 she was recognized by PEN New Mexico with an award for Exceptional Dedication to Fostering Writers of the Southwest.

Her poetry, essays, and creative nonfiction have been published online on such sites as Miriam’s Well and Elephant Journal, and her lyric memoir “Making Peace With the Muse” was published in bosque (the magazine) in 2014.
