K. B. Bond

K.B. Bond aka Kathy B. Bond (1962-) was born in Lynwood, CA, she is one of eight children. One of her first jobs was a preschool teacher. Kathy taught preschool for several years and began her college education in early childhood education programs. This led to loving children's books. Since then has collected hundreds of children's books. She has always dreamed of publishing her own children's book one day.

In 2011, Kathy's 22 year old daughter, Katrina, was killed in a distracted driving accident. Obviously this was devastating and in hopes of sparing other parents/families such grief she began fighting for Texas to create distracted driving laws. She spend several years working with other distracted driving advocates and seven long years later we have now have laws against driving distracted in Texas.

Kathy wanted to write a children's book that would help children deal with the loss of a loved one. How do we talk to children about death? It is a natural part of life, and yet we do our best to avoid discussing this important subject. Children need to understand that everyone will die one day, and this book will allow parents/grandparents/counselors to open that door of communication.
