Michael W. Brault

Michael W. Brault is a U.S. Army Aviation veteran whose career has been shaped by service, aviation, emergency response, and a lifelong desire to help others.

During his military career, Michael’s aviation training and experience were tested in real-world situations on numerous occasions. He served as an aircraft crew member on search-and-rescue missions and as an aviation firefighter, supporting aerial operations to combat forest fires.

Michael also served overseas as an Aircraft Medical Evacuation Crew Chief aboard Black Hawk helicopters. A trained and experienced Combat Lifesaver, he was awarded the prestigious Sikorsky Award in recognition of his role in saving lives using Sikorsky aircraft.

Following his military service, Michael continued his career in civilian aviation. He worked as a technician for an aerospace engineering firm, where he participated in the testing and certification of aircraft, aircraft components, and facilities for their ability to withstand electromagnetic interference (EMI), including the effects associated with lightning strikes.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael is a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His family and life experiences have played an important role in shaping both the person and the writer he has become.

Now retired and living with the effects of a disabling neck injury, Michael has discovered a new purpose through writing. He finds the creative process therapeutic and enjoys writing commentaries as well as developing stories that draw upon imagination, experience, history, and the many lessons gathered throughout his life.
