Chris Turner

Chris Turner trained as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant within KPMG’s audit function, working with a range of SMEs through to FTSE 100 clients.

In his spare time, he developed a love for teaching and charity work through various volunteer roles with St John Ambulance and was lucky enough to bring these experiences into his work at KPMG with a secondment to the global learning and development team and an opportunity to train as a charity specialist.

In 2013 he took the leap to move into teaching on a more permanent basis, joining Birmingham City University’s department of Accountancy and Finance, teaching on a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses and ultimately progressing to direct the undergraduate accounting programmes.

At the end of 2016, he joined ICAEW as a professional consultant, advising on accounting, audit, company law and ethical matters.
