Gregory Payette is the author of more than twenty-five novels spanning crime, mystery, suspense, and character-driven fiction. His stories explore ordinary people facing danger, loss, change, and the question of what comes next.

Born outside Providence, Rhode Island, Gregory brings a strong sense of place to his work—from the backroads of western North Carolina to the towns and coastlines of New England.

He is also a painter whose scenes of solitude, atmosphere, and everyday life sometimes become the covers of his books.

Gregory lives in North Carolina now, which still surprises him some mornings.
