Avia Ustanny-Collinder

Avia Ustanny-Collinder is a Business Journalist residing in Kingston Jamaica. Her interests are financial journalism and writing about the Bible. An award winning news reporter, she has turned her talents to books for those interested in Jesus Christ of the Bible, and literature for children. Her career spans 27 years of news writing. She published her first books in 2019.

Awards include:

2012 – Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) Carlton Alexander Award for Business and Finance Writing.

2011 – Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) Carlton Alexander Award for Business and Finance Writing.

2006 –PAHO-Unifem award for best gender story.

2004 – PAHO Caribbean Award for Excellence in Health Journalism, Best News Story (Print).

2002 – PAHO/UNICEF Award for excellence in Health Journalism

2001 – PAHO/UNICEF Award for Excellence in Health Journalism

1995 – Press Association of Jamaica Joint Human interest award for a body of work in Outlook Magazine.
