Carolyn Keith Hopper lives in southwest Montana. Inspired by the weather and landscape of the Rocky Mountains, she enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, and writing about her local surroundings. She has contributed numerous articles to OUTSIDE BOZEMAN and ROCKY MOUNTAIN GARDENING. Carolyn is also the author of the memoirs RIVER SHADOWS: A PASSAGE FROM HEAD TO HEART and FISHING WITH MY FATHER: A DAUGHTER'S SEARCH FOR LEGACY.
Carolyn is a member of the following organizations that support the wild and beautiful in nature: Audubon Society (both national and local), Trout Unlimited, Great Old Broads for Wilderness, Southern Utah Wilderness Association, Gallatin Valley Land Trust (leading wildflower hikes locally), Pacific Wild, Greater Yellowstone Coalition. She supports work by the Nature Conservancy, and the Trust for Public Land.
In the past Carolyn has volunteered with the Audubon Society children’s programs and with the Montana Outdoor Science School (MOSS) to help connect the young and young at heart with nature when she is not out on a trail listening to bird songs, creek babblings, or getting to know the flowers.
