When stodgy old poet and memoir author, Lona Root Haskins, decided to have some fun with her writing, she went back to her childhood hangout, the haymow. She sat on a hay chair and thought about little Lona Faye with the broken dishes and an old dolly, and started writing the story of Laura Kay. Writing THE GIRL WHO LIVED IN THE HAYMOW was so much fun, she then wrote OUT OF THE HAYMOW, Laura Kay Grows Up. She is now enjoying writing the third book in The Haymow Series.
Mary Warfield Trump painted this clever haymow so kids and grandparents can have fun with Laura Kay at book events.
Ms. Haskins other books are:
Grief to Celebration: The Journey Through the Loss of My Daughter (poetry)
Humble Roots: Earl and Caroline (on Amazon)
