Nicky Morris was born in London in 1976. She is married and has two teenaged daughters. Her professional work is enhanced by a love of poetry, music, art, singing and writing. She originally worked as a professional actress and musician, touring theatres across the UK and Europe. She then trained to be a Dramatherapist.
Nicky has worked as an HCPC registered Dramatherapist, in mental health services since 2005. She spent many years with both the NHS and Cygnet Health Care, offering support to a wide range of people: women with BPD (also known as EUPD), eating disorders and psychotic disorders; older adults with dementia and children and teenagers with Autism and Learning Disabilities.
Nicky now works with young children with complex needs and as resident therapist at a specialist music school.
Nicky has two articles published in Dramatherapy, the Journal of the British Association of Dramatherapists. She wrote her first book in 2018 - Dramatherapy for Borderline Personality Disorder: Empowering and Nurturing People through Creativity (Routledge) and her second in 2020 - Find Your Way: A Story and Drama Resource to Promote Mental Wellbeing in Young People (Pavilion Publishing and Media).
