Sheila Lloyd

Sheila Lin Mooney Lloyd cannot remember a time when communicating through words, music and/or art did not play a huge role in her life and development. Born into a musical family, playing the piano and singing took center stage, while writing was largely a private endeavor. Throughout the decades filled with pursuing dreams, marriage, raising children including one with special needs, pages and pages of personal journals recorded trials faced, prayers offered, and lessons learned. The first widely public work was a “Healing Music Devotional” written in 2007 to accompany her first album of original songs titled “Healing River.” Sheila has produced several albums of original music and has written an hour long musical drama which she acted in titled, “She Ain’t What She Used to Be!”

Putting pen to paper has proven therapeutic as well as inspirational, giving a sense of satisfaction to look at words in print that accurately convey thoughts and feelings. Her first published book was devised in diary form, relating in real time the experiences, insights and emotions when a massive stroke hit her 46 year old husband in 2014. It’s entitled “It’s OK! I Had a Stroke: A Journey of Faith and Healing.”

Shelia remembers the theme of a prayer she prayed as a young adolescent, “Dear God, whatever I go through in life-whether joy or pain-please let me learn whatever you want me to learn from it. And let me minister to others in the process.”
