Writing about aging while aging has created a journey of quintessential amazement and excitement as I venture into the Wisdom Years. I left the institutional world where I wore a variety of hats: professor, clergy woman, government worker, administrator, counselor---all positions that shaped me into the person I am today---An Intentional Senior. I walk; I practice yoga; I ride my bike. I am married to a philosopher, am the mother of two, the grandmother of four. Life is rich with friends, activities, joy, as well is struggles and tough decisions. I live in Santa Fe, NM, the place that captured my heart 40 years ago, and has held me in its thrall ever since. I have spent years hiking, backpacking, canoeing, riding bikes---anything I could do with my body. I engage in watching good films, reading, discussion groups---anything I can do with my mind. My joy is simply sitting in my back yard staring at the natural world, meditating---this feeds my Spirit. I invite people into my thoughts as I thrill to listen to their stories, adventures and wisdom. Life is a pilgrimage. The key is to possess a helpful map taking us into our deeper soul work. My book is written to aid with this.
