Eli Birnbaum

Eli Birnbaum is a retired psychologist, crisis counselor, and historian with a career spanning over four decades. His diverse body of work reflects a deep commitment to understanding the human experience at every stage of life.

From his monumental 45-year historical research in the two-volume Beyond Time, Beyond Place, to his professional insights in What? Me Retire? and Crisis or Challenge, Eli combines academic rigor with profound empathy. He is also the creator of the beloved children's series Dor’s Perfectly Imperfect World, inspired by his 13 grandchildren. Today, Eli continues to serve his community in a crisis response unit and teaches English locally. He lives in Israel, where he spends his time writing, researching, and—most importantly—reading stories to the next generation.
