Alison Deering

Born and raised in Michigan, Alison learned the value of a good book and an excellent sandwich early on. (In fact, she spent a good chunk of her childhood being scolded for reading while eating at the dinner table.) She earned a journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2008 and started her career as a writer and editor. After bouncing around the Midwest for the better part of a decade (checking Minneapolis, Chicago, and suburban Detroit off the list), she moved to the Pacific Northwest and currently lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband. When she's not traveling, Alison is busy making, eating, and talking about as many sandwiches as humanly possible.
