Doug Logan

Doug Logan has been managing editor, technical editor, and executive editor of Sailing World, webmaster for Cruising World, contributing editor of Powerboat Reports, editor-in-chief of Practical Sailor, and senior editor at the websites of the Boats Group. In a lifetime of involvement with boats and boat gear, and with nearly four decades in boating journalism, Logan has had ample opportunity to observe the elements of boating that make it safer, more affordable, and deeply rewarding for some people, but expensive, risky, and frustrating for others. He has gathered some of his most important observations in BoatSense, a compact treatise that Nathaniel Philbrick calls "warm, accessible, and wickedly smart."
