Andy Kravis

Andy Kravis is a puzzlemaker, editor, and writer living in Brooklyn, NY. Since 2011, his puzzles have been published in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, and many other publications. He published his first book of puzzles, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!: 100 LARGE-PRINT WORD SEARCHES, in 2019.

Andy currently works as the Associate Puzzles & Games Editor at The New Yorker. He co-founded the annual Indie 500 crossword tournament, featuring the work of up-and-coming puzzlemakers, and he is a regular contributor to the app Crosswords with Friends.

Andy is also a game show veteran, having appeared on Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, and Million Second Quiz.

Andy has a B.A. from the University of Michigan in Women's Studies and English, and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
