Dr. Thomas S. Roukis received his DPM degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco and his PhD in Healthcare Education from Rushmore University through distance based learning. He completed a 3 year podiatric medicine and surgical residency at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin, followed by an AO International Trauma Fellowship in Mainz, Germany, an American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Division 14 European Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship, and a Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Research and Surgery Fellowship in Des Plaines, Illinois.

Dr. Roukis is an Attending Podiatric Surgeon within the Orthopaedic Service Line at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. Dr. Roukis was Chief of the Limb Preservation Service in the Vascular/Endovascular Surgery Service at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, where he was also Director of the Limb Preservation Complex Lower Extremity Surgery and Research Fellowship which is a Council on Podiatric Medical Education accredited 2-year program. He is Past President of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds Adjunct Clinical Professor Faculty positions at the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine; California School of Podiatric Medicine at the Samuel Merritt University; Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery; Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine; Midwestern University/College of Health Sciences; Western University of Health Sciences/College of Podiatric Medicine; and Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

Dr. Roukis serves as a peer reviewer or on the editorial board of numerous scientific publications and is an active member in professional associations. He has received myriad awards and scholarships related to research and clinical expertise in complex foot and ankle surgery and have served as principal or co-investigator on 22 clinical trials and scientific studies. He has published over 170 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has given more than 400 oral and poster presentations nationally and internationally.
