Nigel Stott (b.1963) is originally from the UK, where he worked as a biology teacher, but for the past 25 years he has lived in Japan, teaching English primarily to Japanese university students and adults. With a keen interest in nature photography, he spends almost all of his free time wandering around the countryside near his home in Munakata, Fukuoka. As well as exploring Japan, he has visited over 50 countries on adventure and wildlife-viewing trips, and has a collection of almost half a million photos, which he is now in the process of arranging into travel and nature books.
