Ali Carter was born in Scotland and read art history at St Andrews. Her eclectic career has included stints in investment management, retail, technology. But a serious accident led to a reappraisal, a challenging pilgrimage (which she wrote about in her book, An Accidental Jubilee by Alice Warrender) and a career as an artist.
In 2016 Ali was commissioned to write a trilogy of murder mystery novels for Point Blank, the crime imprint of independent publisher Oneworld. A Brush with Death (2018) The Colours of Murder (2019) A Trick of the Light (2021) featuring amateur sleuth Susie Mahl.
