M. Ted Forester

M. Ted Forester is a writer and teacher in southeast Arkansas. He was born and raised in what television news reporter Sam Donaldson once called a "relatively benign cult." He studied theology at the now defunct Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA, and then completed multiple degrees in French and Writing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He completed the course work for a doctorate in English at the University of South Florida where he focused on the rhetoric of religious cults. After reviewing a book for the Cultic Studies Review, he was interviewed by Chris Lundgren on BBC Radio 4's "Word of Mouth" program. M. Ted Forester has presented at several national conferences and one international conference in Brussels, Belgium. Upon leaving the cult at the age of nineteen, his religious journey went from apathy to agnostic to atheist back to agnostic and finally to the discovery of the real grace of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. After years of mental unrest and spiritual turmoil, God brought him home. He has taught writing classes at several universities. He has been a farm worker, a construction worker, a waiter, a bellhop, a courtesy van driver, a teacher, and a writer, but his favorite life roles have been father and redeemed son of God.
