I was born in the US and studied social sciences and business at Yale University and the London
School of Economics. I moved to Switzerland in 1988 and have spent my professional life in the Zurich area. I am active in management consulting, e.g. with KPMG and as an independent consultant, and also as a professor on business studies programs, with experience at the University of St. Gallen, Business School Lausanne, and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur. I have an excellent mix of theory and practice in my background as the basis for my insights in the books.
Outside of work I spend time in the Alps, reading, bicycling, and with my three grown-up kids when they let me.
My motivation to write books about business is that we can all benefit from businesses that work better. In particular I am excited about the new and emerging fifth dimension of value, Deep-Connect, because it will lead the way to us all gaining deeper meaning while connecting us up in our communities, as part of a business makeover and societal transformation.
