June Hamer

June and William are avid travelers who are always ready to plan another trip. June was raised in a home where her parents cared for disadvantaged children. Her parent’s dedication to service led her to a career in nursing in the civilian world and 20 years of service in the US Air Force Reserves as a Flight Nurse where she attained the rank of Lt. Col.

Born in Danville, Virginia, William developed a strong interest in Christian ethics and moral philosophy while attending Averett College. That interest led him to pursue a M.Div. at Duke Divinity School and further graduate studies at Vanderbilt University. He later served as an editor of Adult Curriculum resources at the United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville.
