Ajay Nair

Ajay Nair writes psychological suspense about women who survive what was done to them.

His latest novel, The Housekeeper's Silence, follows a young hotel housekeeper with no memory of her childhood, haunted by dreams she cannot distinguish from memory — and by a building that refuses to stay quiet.

His previous novel, The Woman with Two Shadows, is a thriller of caste, family secrets and revenge set in South India, following a woman who defies a society built to silence her. He also co-writes the Cutie Fox children's series — Cutie Fox Went to Fiji and Cutie Fox Went to Kerala — with his son, Dravid Nair.

Born and raised in a middle-class South Indian family, he left behind considerable social pressure to pursue writing. He is a Silver Literary Titan Award winner and has lived in Canada for over two decades with his family.

He writes stories about women who are underestimated, and about the strength that surfaces when they stop being quiet.
