Dr. Chris DeRienzo

Dr. Chris DeRienzo is a dedicated husband, a proud father of three, a mediocre triathlete, and the author of "Tiny Medicine: One Doctor's Biggest Lessons from His Smallest Patients."

A board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist, Chris spent years in the NICU learning that the tiniest patients often teach the biggest lessons. *Tiny Medicine* is his attempt to pass those lessons on, to clinicians, to leaders, and to anyone who has ever felt small in the face of something enormous.

Beyond the page, Chris is a national healthcare leader, a frequent keynote speaker, and an Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University. His work has been featured in CNN, The New York Times, NPR, and Newsweek, and he currently serves as President of the AHA's Health Research & Educational Trust and Chief Physician Executive of the American Hospital Association.

He lives in North Carolina with his wife, Melody, and their three children.
