John Tucker (1968- ) once mistakenly attended the wrong family reunion. It was some time before he and the family realized that they were not related. Since then, John has never known exactly where he belongs. He is neither a believer nor an unbeliever. When he is with religious people, he longs for the critical thinking of philosophical skeptics. When he is with unbelievers, he longs for the open heartedness of progressive believers. John tries to walk Wittgenstein's tightrope and be an honest religious thinker who sometimes wonders if it is worth it. He hopes to help rescue the Christian religion from the idolatry of theists, the reductionistic snobbishness of atheists, the reactive paternalism of progressives, and the apathy of mainline protestants while keeping a sense of humor about his own mistakes and limitations.
