Born and raised in rural England, Julie Justicz moved to Grand Bahama Island when she was ten and then to the United States as a teenager. She graduated from Emory University, earned a law degree from University of Chicago, and received an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. As an attorney and executive director of a nonprofit organization, she promotes civil rights and healthcare justice in Chicago. Her first novel, Degrees of Difficulty, was honored by the Society of Midland Authors in 2019. A lifelong lover of water, she now lives with her spouse, next to the mysterious and ever-changing Lake Michigan.
