Charlie Michael

Charlie Michael is Assistant Professor of Film and Media at Emory University. His research focuses on media industries and popular culture in a global context. He is the author of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: Youth, Race, and the Hypertext (Routledge, 2024) and French Blockbusters: Cultural Politics of a Transnational Cinema (Edinburgh UP, 2019). He is also the co-editor of the Directory of World Cinema: France (Intellect, 2013) and his work has appeared in journals such as SubStance, Transnational Screens, and The Velvet Light Trap.
