When my children were little, before the internet or smart phones, I would tell them stories while putting them to bed. I enjoyed the challenge of making up a story on the spot. This was a big confidence builder. My audience quickly learned the more they seemed to like the stories the longer they could stay awake. On the best nights no one wanted to stop because we were connected: storyteller, listener and story.

I live in Texas with my wife and some animals. As of this writing we have a dog, but if she got her way there would also be an alpaca, miniature horse and a hedgehog.
